Welcome to Orange Private Hospital
Orange Private Hospital is a boutique short-stay private hospital located in the heart of Orange, NSW, within the Bloomfield Medical centre. Our hospital is part of the Nexus Hospitals group and is accredited to AS/NZA ISO9001:2016 with Global Mark, and the Australian National Safety, Quality and Health Service Standards (NSQHSS).
Given the recent spike in unlinked community transmission of COVID-19 in the Orange region, Orange Private Hospital now requires all patients attending for surgery to have preadmission COVID testing no later than 72 hours before admission.
Regrettably, in light of the current outbreak, we are no longer able to permit visitors into our hospital, and family and friends will only be able to drop-off and pick up patients until further notice.
Patients with cognitive impairments and high dependency disability conditions will still be allowed to have their carer support. However, carers must also have a COVID swab 72 hours before entry into the facility.
Orange Private Hospital provides specialised surgical services and excellent facilities including:
- Five technologically-advanced operating theatres
- Day surgery recovery room
- 16 private ensuite rooms for longer post-operative stays
- A six bed Close Observation Unit and dedicated paediatric ward
There are also diagnostic services, including pathology, ultrasound and radiology, as well as pharmacy services co-located in the Bloomfield Medical Centre.

Acting Director of Nursing
Preparation for your surgery begins well before the day of your operation, and we will be with you every step of the way – from the day you book your surgery until the day of your operation – to make sure that you have everything you need to be confident during your stay with us.
At Orange Private Hospital we have formalised a simple Admission to Discharge (A to D) Plan specific to your procedure/operation, covering:
- Your Admission
- Your Stay
- Your Discharge
Preadmission is the first step, and an important part of your hospital care. This step includes completing a Patient Registration Form, a Health Questionnaire and a Consent Form. It’s important to submit these preadmission forms at least 7 days prior to your procedure. You can deliver them in person or by courier, scan and email, fax, or post (using the reply-paid envelope provided). We will then review your details and medical history, and get in touch if we require any additional information. If sending by post, please ensure you allow at least two weeks for postage. If using email or fax, please remember to bring the original forms with you on your admission to hospital.
We will notify you of your admission time by SMS or email on the business day before your procedure. If we do not have a mobile telephone number for you, we will telephone you on your landline. Pre-admission staff will call you on the working day prior to your admission to confirm your admission time & fasting times and any other details required.
It’s also important to bring an up-to-date list of your current medications with you for your hospital visit. You can obtain this from your General Practitioner or pharmacist.Learn more about what to expect and how to prepare for your surgery
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
Acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is an important aspect of ending exclusion.
Located in Orange in the NSW Central Tablelands, Orange Private Hospital acknowledges the Wiradjuri people who originally occupied this land. We acknowledge all elders past and present and extend this respect to all Aboriginal people living, working, or visiting the NSW Central Tablelands.
Awareness of the importance of different cultures and acceptance of this diversity as part of modern Australia is central to the Orange Private Hospital culture. This increased acceptance across all aspects of our society is a critical aspect in helping to create a more united Australia.
