    Orange Private Hospital (OPH), recently opened in July 2020 as a premium boutique short stay private hospital, within the brand new Bloomfield Medical Centre, located in Orange. This first-class facility features five fully integrated, state-of-the-art operating suites, a 23 bed short stay wing including a 6 bed High Dependency Unit with plans for expansion of both operating theatres and overnight accommodation.

    In keeping with our growth strategy, OPH is recruiting a General Manager/Director of Nursing to lead our local team.

    We are seeking expressions of interest from an experienced General Manager/Director of Nursing with the skills and enthusiasm to step into this important role. Strong clinical knowledge in the perioperative areas is essential (wards/ICU also highly regarded), as is management experience across a broad range of specialties. Remuneration including base salary and achievable short-term incentive will be commensurate with your experience.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Nexus Operations Director – North, the role requires strong and sensitive leadership including the provision of strategic direction for our clinical as well as finance and administration staff. This position also offers excellent career development opportunities within a supportive team.

    The General Manager/Director of Nursing has overall responsibility for clinical governance (along with the Medical Director), doctor relationships, excellent patient experience, the hospital’s reputation, business development and clinical and commercial outcomes.  The Nexus model provides an excellent support network for each of our hospital managers while providing an autonomous environment for strong hospital leaders to manage their facility and their team to optimise outcomes.

    The General Manager/Director of Nursing will be supported by an experienced finance and administrative team, as well as strategic and operational backing from the Nexus Support Office.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Previous employment in a senior private hospital leadership role.
    • Desire to work as part of a collaborative team where respect and cooperation are paramount
    • Registration with AHPRA
    • Post-graduate qualification in perioperative nursing with 5 years minimum recent experience
    • Thorough understanding of clinical governance and accreditation processes
    • Proven ability to create a hospital culture providing premium service for Doctors and their patients
    • Well-developed management and leadership skills
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and commercial skills both written and verbal
    • Ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible in a changing dynamic environment

     Desirable Criteria:

    • Understanding of budgeting, financial reporting and processes
    • Experience in development of business cases and analysis of commercial outcomes

  • Orange Private Hospital - Registered Nurses & Enrolled Nurses - Scrub Scouts and Surgical Ward

    Orange Private Hospital is expecting to open in June 2021 as a premium short stay private hospital within the brand new Bloomfield Medical Centre, located in Orange. This first class facility will initially feature four fully integrated state-of-the-art operating suites, a 16 bed short stay wing, and a six bed close observation unit, with plans for expansion.

Currently with 16 hospitals across Australia, we are focused on providing world class, outstanding patient care in premium surgical facilities.

    Orange Private Hospital is looking to recruit both Registered and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses trained as scrub/ scouts to join our team.

    We are offering multiple permanent Full Time and Part Time roles.

     About the Role

    The role advertised is for both surgical ward and Scrub/scouts. Applicants can be assured that your application will be considered based on your area of expertise and skillset across the full scope of the Operating Theatre, Recovery and Surgical Ward settings.

    You will report to the Nurse Unit Manager, and perform duties with the support and guidance of the Department Manager, Clinical Nurse, Team and Shift Leaders, to ensure a high level of quality patient care which are aligned to our care values and strategic direction of the Nexus Hospitals.

    About You

    To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset in a hospital setting as a trained scrub scout or surgical ward nurse with a passion for client care and a high standard of customer-focused service in line with Nexus core values of Respect and Collaboration, Commitment to Excellence. and Innovation. Candidates applying for the role must have exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment that delivers surgical services across a range of medical specialties including orthopaedics, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, gynaecology and general surgery. Nursing staff with experience across all specialties are highly desirable.

    The flexibility to work a rotating roster will be key for this role.

    Mandatory Pre-requisites:

    Current nursing registration with AHPRA as a Registered or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.

    • EENs must be certified to administer medication and IV’s.
    • 1 Year minimum Post-Graduate Experience working as a scrub scout is essential to this role with orthopaedic specialty experience being highly desired.
    • Any post-graduate qualifications in a relevant perioperative specialty will be highly regarded, though not essential.
    • Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency. Unfortunately we are not able to consider sponsorship at this time.

    Tennyson Centre Day Hospital is a standalone, purpose-built Day Surgical Hospital, located in Kurralta Park SA and forms part of the Nexus Hospital Group. Our team offers a supportive, friendly and flexible working environment.

    Our specialties include Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastics, Oral surgery, Gastroenterology, and an infusion service. We are supported by 2 operating theatres, 3 procedure rooms and an 11-bed recovery and 12 chair recovery unit.

    The successful applicant will need current APHRA certification and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a perioperative area.
