Nexus Invests in Latest Endoscopy System

In keeping with our commitment to consistently deliver the highest quality care possible to our patients, Nexus has implemented the latest Olympus EVIS X1 endoscopy platform across all endoscopy sites. Insight Private Hospital, Pennant Hills Day Surgery, Sundew Day Surgery, and Tennyson Centre Day Hospital have all now been upgraded to the new platform.

The Olympus EVIS X1 system innovations include Extended Depth of Field (EDOF) endoscopes with full focus and high magnification, Narrow Band Imaging (NBI), Red Dichromatic Imaging (RDI) and Tissue Enhancement (TXI). These easy-to-use technologies aim to revolutionise the way gastrointestinal disorders can be detected, characterised and treated, enabling Nexus clinicians to improve clinical outcomes through early detection and minimally invasive endoscopic treatment.  The addition of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies as Olympus rapidly evolves with AI modules of this exciting new clinical tool, allows the EVIS X1 system to set the benchmark for endoscopic care, ensuring our patients receive the treatment they deserve when having an endoscopy.

The new Olympus EVIS X1 endoscopy system provides our clinicians with the best endoscopic imaging available in the area to date. This helps to improve patient outcomes by supporting early diagnosis, thereby allowing earlier treatment or intervention. By helping to facilitate screening and early detection of abnormalities, EVIS X1 technology can play a key role in detecting abnormalities before they can progress to cancers of the gastrointestinal tract.
